Vallehermoso advances in the work of channeling the ravine with a follow-up technical visit

The project, with an investment of 4.5 million euros, will improve safety, mobility and the creation of new urban spaces in the area around the town.

The Vallehermoso City Council has carried out a technical visit to the channeling works of the municipality's ravine, in which the Deputy Minister of Water and Safety and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, the general director of Water, responsible technicians, the project management and the company in charge of carrying out the work have participated.

During the tour, the degree of execution of the different areas of the project was evaluated, which includes strategic actions in various points of the urban area and its surroundings. In zone 5, corresponding to the mouth of the Ingenio ravine at its confluence with Vallehermoso Beach and the maritime park, the progress of a key intervention for the protection of the coastline and hydraulic safety was analyzed.

Likewise, in zone 4 the execution of the new access to Lomo del Barro and its surroundings was addressed, while in zones 3 and 2 the delimitation of the Macayo ravine channel in its connection with the Plaza de la Constitución and the extension of the route towards the access roundabout to the urban area were reviewed. At this point, the execution of the pipe piping of the channel to the area around the soccer field is planned.

After the recent approval of the modified project, this action will also incorporate the creation of a new street with services and parking areas, which will allow the creation of new urban spaces, improve the organization of the environment and solve historical urbanization problems in this strip of the ravine, facilitating mobility and access to public services.

On the other hand, zone 1 contemplates the adaptation of the channel of the Ingenio ravine in the area around the center of Los Chapines, with the aim of reinforcing security and improving accessibility to agricultural properties in the area.

The project, promoted by the Department of Territorial Policy and Water of the Government of the Canary Islands, has an approximate budget of 4.5 million euros and is part of a strategic action to improve security, protection against floods and the urban transformation of the area around the center of Vallehermoso.
