Vallehermoso advances in the creation of a new pedestrian promenade that will connect the town with the beach

The action, with an investment of 150,000 euros, is part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in the “Vallehermoso Guarapeo” Destination and will enable a safe pedestrian route that connects the urban center with the coast.

The Vallehermoso City Council has commissioned the execution of the Casco-Playa Green Path project, an action aimed at creating a pedestrian route that connects the center of the municipality with the beach and the maritime park through the bed of the Valle ravine. With an investment of 150,000 euros, the project is part of the “Vallehermoso Guarapeo” Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan, financed with Next Generation EU funds within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The objective of this initiative is to offer a safe alternative to road traffic, improving accessibility between both points and promoting a new tourist and environmental attraction for residents and visitors. The route runs parallel to the ravine, taking advantage of existing paths and tracks, with specific interventions to guarantee its continuity and safety.

The planned actions include the clearing and cleaning of the passage area, the formation of ramps between terraces through earthworks and reconstruction of masonry walls, the execution of a 25-meter earth ramp to connect different levels of the land and the paving with continuous concrete in the elevated sections or close to the channel. Likewise, protective railings will be installed, the enclosure of the treatment plant (WWTP) will be renewed and the path will be delimited with basalt stone on the margins of orchards and terraces.

The project also includes environmental protection measures, responsible waste management and quality control of materials, with an execution period of six months. The action will be coordinated with the channeling works of the “Project to Replenish the Hydraulic Infrastructures of the Vallehermoso Ravine”, guaranteeing the connection between both interventions.
