The mayor of Alajeró, Manuel Ramón Plasencia, welcomes the announcement made by the Government of Spain to promote a Public Service Obligation (OSP), thus favoring the air connection between the islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro, thus achieving a very long-standing demand from citizens, as well as from the Gomera institutions themselves for many years.
The Mayor considers that the company that currently provides its service in the connection between this Island and Tenerife and also with Gran Canaria should study that the flight that connects the Gomero airport with that of Los Rodeos takes place first thing in the morning and not from ten thirty in the morning, as is currently the case.
Remember that there are many “and more and more” passengers who use this air connection between Colombina Island and Tenerife, especially to carry out personal procedures that in many cases have to do with medical consultations in reference hospitals. “The fact that the flight leaves almost mid-morning from Alajeró to the Tenerife aerodrome does not at all facilitate an efficient and operational connection that in this case patients or sick people avoid having to travel the day before to arrive on time for their consultations or first thing in the morning of the same day.
Plasencia appreciates the decision of the State Government to give the possibility of finally connecting “our Island with La Palma and El Hierro or vice versa, but regardless of this decision, the citizens of Gomero would see very positively that the flight Tenerife with La Gomera and La Gomera with Tenerife is carried out first thing in the morning, thereby achieving better service and better operability.
