The 'Alisios' team wins first prize and will represent La Gomera in the El Talentón Regional Grand Final, which will be held in La Palma

With this initiative, the Cabildo reinforces its cooperation with young talent, practical training and the generation of projects with the capacity to contribute to the economic, social and professional growth of the island.
La Gomera held, last Saturday, June 27, the 'El Talentón' Hackathon for Entrepreneurs La Gomera 2026, a day aimed at activating young talent, promoting applied innovation and promoting solutions linked to the socioeconomic development of the territory.
The meeting, held in the Headquarters Building of the Cabildo of La Gomera, brought together young participants who, throughout the day, worked as a team to design innovative proposals around the challenge 'Young Employment and Return of Talent: Real Opportunities, Entrepreneurship and Training'.
Starting from this challenge, the five teams developed ideas aimed at generating real opportunities for the youth of La Gomera and the Canary Islands, promoting quality employment, entrepreneurship, improving training and the return of talent as strategic tools to strengthen the future of the island.
The first vice president of the Cabildo of La Gomera, Adasat Reyes, highlighted the importance of promoting initiatives that allow youth to actively participate in the construction of new opportunities. "La Gomera needs to continue generating spaces where young people can provide solutions, develop their skills and feel part of the island's future. This hackathon demonstrates that there is talent, commitment and an innovative vision to face such important challenges as youth employment, training, entrepreneurship and the return of those who wish to remain linked to their land," he said.
Reyes also stressed that the Cabildo will continue to support projects that connect youth talent with the real needs of the territory. "The development of La Gomera also involves offering opportunities to new generations, facilitating their professional growth and creating the conditions so that they can undertake, work and build their life project on the island. Initiatives such as El Talentón contribute to that objective, from the institutional collaboration of the Island Council and our commitment to innovation," he stated.
After evaluating the proposals presented, the jury decided to award recognition to the projects best valued for their innovation, feasibility and impact. The first prize went to Team 2, with the 'Alisios' project, made up of Noé Hernández Armas, Laura Cagide Carrillo and Adam Khan Navarro. As the winning team of the island edition, 'Alisios' will represent La Gomera in the Regional Grand Final of El Talentón Canarias 2026, which will be held in La Palma and in which it will compete alongside the finalist teams from the rest of the islands.
The second prize was awarded to Team 4, with the 'Relevón' project, made up of Ada Aguiar Díaz, Noel Galindo Navarro, Jaime Martín and Lara Marco. For its part, the third prize went to Team 5, with the project 'Nueva Raíz', made up of Aitor Anatael Mora Cid, Aaron Zegnoun, Yara Sánchez Herrera and Mireya Gil Delgado.
The day allowed participants to work on a real challenge, apply innovation methodologies, receive support and mentoring, and develop key skills such as creativity, communication, leadership, problem solving and collaborative work.
The co-CEO of El Talentón, Estefanía Castro, highlighted the commitment and potential of Gomera youth, underlining the importance of creating spaces where they can develop their capabilities and become protagonists of the island's future.
"La Gomera once again shows us that it has a youth with a lot of talent, creativity and desire to build their future. When we give them the opportunity to work on real challenges, they respond with innovative ideas and commitment to their territory. Our purpose is to continue generating opportunities so that young people can develop professionally without giving up their link with the island, turning talent into an engine of development for La Gomera and the Canary Islands," he stated.
For his part, the co-CEO of El Talentón, Juan Vera, highlighted the involvement of institutions and the local ecosystem to make this type of initiatives possible. "Talent needs opportunities, connections and trust. In La Gomera we have found extraordinary involvement on the part of institutions, collaborating entities and the youth themselves. This collaboration is what allows ideas with potential to become real projects, generating employment, promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening the roots of talent on the island. That is the true impact we seek with El Talentón," he noted.
The 'El Talentón' Hackathon for Entrepreneurs La Gomera 2026 is part of the actions aimed at promoting innovation, youth entrepreneurship and the creation of new opportunities in the Canary Islands, with the collaboration of the Cabildo of La Gomera, the Canary Islands Employment Service and the Center for Orientation, Entrepreneurship, Support and Innovation for Employment of the Canary Islands, COE Canarias.
