On June 27, La Gomera will host the 'El Talentón' Hackathon for Entrepreneurs 2026, a day aimed at activating the entrepreneurial talent of young people between 16 and 35 years old on the island, offering them tools, support and practical experiences to transform ideas into projects with potential for personal, professional and business development.
The insular Youth Councilor, Guillermo Medina, invited the young people of the island “to dare to take the first step and activate their talent, building new opportunities for the future from the Canary Islands and from La Gomera.” In this way, he insisted that "this experience is presented as an opportunity for La Gomera youth to take a step forward in their development, strengthen their entrepreneurial attitude and approach new future possibilities through innovation, collaboration and commitment."
During the day, participants will work as a team to develop innovative ideas, solve real challenges and learn about methodologies used by entrepreneurs, startups and professionals in the field of innovation. The program is designed both for young people who already have a business idea and for those who want to learn, discover new opportunities and enhance key skills for their future work.
The meeting will allow you to acquire practical training in entrepreneurship and innovation, receive mentoring from professionals and experts, and develop skills highly in demand by the business community, such as leadership, creativity, communication, problem solving and teamwork. Likewise, the activity will favor the networking between young people from the Canary Islands and La Gomera, generating a space for connection, learning and shared growth.

The 'El Talentón' Hackathon for Entrepreneurs La Gomera 2026 will be held on Saturday, June 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Cabildo de La Gomera Headquarters Building.
Participation will be completely free and will include breakfast, lunch and the official El Talentón t-shirt. Places are limited and registration will remain open until the available space is filled.
Prize and registration
The winning team from La Gomera will represent the island in the Regional Grand Final of El Talentón Canarias 2026, where it will compete alongside the finalist teams from the rest of the islands.
The winning team of the Regional Final will receive as the grand prize a trip to China with all expenses paid, with the aim of getting to know some of the most advanced innovation, technology and entrepreneurship ecosystems in the world, as well as exploring new business, learning and international growth opportunities.

The initiative, organized by El Talentón, has the support of the Canarian Employment Service, the Center for Orientation, Entrepreneurship, Support and Innovation for Employment of the Canary Islands (COE Canarias) and the Cabildo of La Gomera, within the framework of actions aimed at promoting innovation, youth entrepreneurship and the generation of new opportunities in the archipelago.
