On the occasion of the celebration of "International Children's Book Day", scheduled for April 2, the Spanish Organization for Children's and Young People's Books (OEPLI), with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, has organized an activity called "Postal Readings", to which the San Sebastián de La Gomera City Council has decided to join.
It involves young people, boys and girls from San Sebastián de La Gomera, aged 3 to 14, participating in a postal exchange with other boys and girls from Onís in Asturias. They will be postcards created and designed entirely by the participants (with image and text), and in them the participants must briefly introduce themselves, and recommend a book to the recipient of their postcard, or share some reflection on what reading means to them.
The exchange will take place in the week of April 11, being managed by the Municipal Library of San Sebastián de La Gomera itself.
The City Council is calling on boys and girls up to 14 years old to start thinking and designing their postcards for this initiative.
Finally, it is reported that the contest rules, as well as the registration form, are available at the municipal facility during its usual opening hours.
