The deputy spokesperson for ASG in Parliament has revealed that in different population centers of Vallehermoso and Agulo it is not possible to tune into Televisión Canaria
The deputy of the Gomera Socialist Group Parliamentary Group (ASG) Jesús Ramos has requested this Wednesday, the 4th, that the Radio Televisión Canaria entity solve the problems detected with the signal so that all corners of the Islands can tune in to public radio and television. The deputy spokesperson for this formation raised, during the parliamentary RTVC Control Commission, this problem that affects different areas of La Gomera.
"This is a demand that residents of different parts of Vallehermoso and Agulo have been asking us for a long time, but we also know that this situation occurs in other areas of the Archipelago and not only in La Gomera," he assured.
The deputy was interested in knowing the reason why the Canarian public television signal does not reach all areas of the island of La Gomera, as well as the solutions that the entity is considering in this regard. "If one thing is clear to us, it is that a public service such as that provided by Canarian Television, as the transmission axis of our culture and to keep us informed of what is happening in the Archipelago, cannot fail to be provided to a part of the citizens," he indicated.
In the opinion of the Gomero deputy, "it is indisputable that public radio and television have become the tools that allow us to be duly informed of current events, which is why, from our parliamentary group, we understand that all citizens of the Islands must have the same right to be able to enjoy the Canarian Television channel in their municipality."
Likewise, Ramos proposed including in the bidding documents for the new contract the obligation to provide the signal service so that it can reach all corners of the Islands. “We want to reiterate our commitment to collaborate so that this signal reaches each of the Canarian homes,” he stated.
