The main annual event for commercial revitalization of the island is held from October 9 to 11 in San Sebastián de La Gomera
The program combines commercial activity with musical performances, children's proposals, sustainable workshops and the fashion show
The Cabildo of La Gomera celebrates, from Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11, a new edition of Exposaldo La Gomera, which this year will take place in the Plaza de Las Américas, in San Sebastián de La Gomera, and will bring together around thirty businesses on the island for three days dedicated to the promotion and revitalization of the La Gomera commercial fabric.
The fair will open its doors on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and on Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., offering residents and visitors the opportunity to discover the offerings of participating establishments and access products from different sectors in a single space.
The president of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, highlighted that “Exposaldo is a tool to bring the commerce of La Gomera closer to the citizens and help our establishments gain visibility, generate activity and find new sales opportunities.” In this sense, he pointed out that "for three days the Plaza de Las Américas becomes a great showcase of island commerce, but also a meeting point that allows us to value the diversity and adaptability of our small and medium-sized companies."
Curbelo stressed that the celebration of this fair is part of the actions to support local commerce, “a sector closely linked to the economic and social activity of our municipalities.” Thus, he invited residents and visitors “to come to Exposaldo, learn about the offerings of participating businesses and enjoy programming designed to complement commercial activity.”
The insular Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Consumption, María Isabel Méndez, explained that “we have proposed Exposaldo as an event in which the activity of businesses is the protagonist, but accompanied by proposals that allow attracting different audiences and generating movement throughout the weekend.”
Méndez pointed out that "the combination of shopping, music, children's activities, sustainability and fashion contributes to creating a more attractive space for families and, at the same time, multiplies the opportunities for establishments to show their products and connect with new customers." Likewise, he highlighted that "the participation of around thirty businesses once again demonstrates the interest that Exposaldo generates among the island's business community."
The planned program extends over three days. On Friday, the opening of the fair will be accompanied by entertainment and a musical performance between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Saturday will concentrate a good part of the parallel activities, with children's workshops in the morning, a musical performance from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., sustainable clothing reuse workshops in the afternoon, a recreational-educational show from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and a new musical performance between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The day will culminate with the fashion show featuring establishments on the island.
On Sunday, the sustainable and family-friendly proposals will continue, along with a musical performance scheduled between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. In addition, on Saturday and Sunday there will be inflatable activities for children.
