The Cabildo reports the management of 141 tons of waste during the last twelve months and highlights the use of this island service by 138 companies
The Cabildo of La Gomera highlights the results obtained in the management of the insular Clean Point, a service that during the last twelve months has received and treated 141 tons of waste. Of this total, 94 tons correspond to construction and demolition waste, 20 tons to bulky waste, 6 tons of ferrous waste, 2 tons to clothing, 2 tons of paper and cardboard and 1 ton to light packaging.
Likewise, 138 companies on the island regularly use the Punto Limpio, actively contributing to compliance with environmental regulations and the consolidation of a more sustainable management model in La Gomera.
The president of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, stressed the importance of maintaining the collaboration of the entire La Gomera society in this matter. "The correct management of waste is not only an environmental obligation, but also an example of the collective commitment to the conservation of our environment. The involvement of citizens and the business community is essential to continue moving towards a cleaner and more responsible island," he said.
The Cabildo was reminded that the Clean Point is available for the free delivery of materials that should not be deposited in conventional containers, such as appliances, furniture, pruning remains, used oils, batteries or household debris. In this way, proper treatment is guaranteed and uncontrolled discharge into natural spaces is avoided.
The service facilities are open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., thus facilitating user access throughout the week.
In this way, the proper treatment of waste is guaranteed and uncontrolled dumping in natural spaces is avoided, reinforcing the joint commitment to environmental protection, the circular economy and the responsible management of resources.
