Resident artisans, companies, associations and groups with registered and tax domicile on the island could benefit from these incentives that are now entering the resolution phase.

The Cabildo of La Gomera has closed the deadline to qualify for the call for aid to the island craft sector, a line of cooperation endowed with 55 thousand euros and aimed at resident artisans, companies, associations and groups with registered and tax domicile on the island.
This was reported by the island president, Casimiro Curbelo, who specified that this support measure "reveals the sector's interest in accessing instruments that contribute to keeping alive an activity closely linked to our identity, the local economy and the transmission of traditional trades."
Curbelo recalled that the bases of this call have been improved this year, with the extension of the eligible amounts up to 5,000 euros in the case of artisans registered as self-employed, the incorporation of new lines of support and the simplification of the application and justification procedure.
"From the Cabildo we continue working so that La Gomera crafts have more resources, more administrative facilities and better conditions for its development, because we are talking about a sector that not only generates economic activity, but also preserves knowledge, techniques and values that are part of the cultural heritage of La Gomera," he added.
For her part, the insular advisor of Artesanía, Cristina Ventura, explained that, once the deadline for submitting applications has ended, the insular Institution now begins the procedure of review, evaluation and processing of the files presented, in accordance with the criteria included in the regulatory bases.
Three lines of subsidy
The call includes three lines of subsidy. Line 1 is aimed at artisans and craft companies on the island, and allows subsidizing expenses related to the acquisition of machinery and tools, the incorporation of new information and communication technologies into marketing systems, the costs of inclusion in online sales platforms, participation in professional fairs, training, Social Security contribution fees, promotional material, consulting expenses and premises rentals, among others.
Line 2 is aimed at expenses derived from the constitution of economic interest groups in the sector, while line 3 includes aid to artisan associations that participate in markets, technical meetings, congresses or professional fairs.
In all cases, the aid will cover up to 75% of eligible expenses. The maximum amount will be 3,000 euros, with the exception of artisans registered as self-employed, who may qualify for an amount of up to 5,000 euros.
