«FROM HERE», Local fashion and gastronomy festival in Playa de Santiago.

On Saturday, November 22, Plaza del Carmen and Avenida Marítima will host a day that celebrates local talent, products from La Gomera and sustainable culture

The Alajeró City Council presents "FROM HERE", a festival that connects fashion, gastronomy and territory in an event designed to highlight local commerce and the producers of La Gomera. The event, which will take place in front of the El Pósito Cultural Center and in Plaza del Carmen, offers a complete experience on the seashore: parades, tastings and live music.

«FROM HERE» was born with a clear vocation: to make visible the quality of what is nearby. The festival brings together local fashion businesses that will present their collections in a parade that has already been consolidated in previous editions.

At the same time, local producers will offer tastings that will allow you to discover the gastronomic wealth of the island, thus strengthening the value chain of the primary sector in the area.

The event will open at 5:00 p.m., with the opening of different stalls selling local products, as well as a tasting area for a variety of local products.

At 6:30 p.m. the long-awaited local Fashion Show will begin, which has already had several editions achieving great success thanks to the collaboration of local companies, as well as the Matices Association, which collaborates with the event, providing enthusiasm, energy, work and professionalism.

On this occasion, the participating businesses will be MG Ayedacri, Novedades Narcisa, Modas El Maguen, Machanga and Deniz Pasoti. In addition, we will have performances by DJ Antonio Trujillo and DISHY D to liven up the different shows.

To close the afternoon-evening, we will have the collaboration of the Reggae Extension Can Festival XI, which will participate in the Festival with performances by great musical references in the reggae scene made in the Canary Islands. RUTS & LA ISLA MUSIC is an independent artist who fuses reggae, roots, neo soul and Latin rhythms with an authentic island identity. And finally, WARRIOR E DJ, who has collaborated with some of the most important reggae and dancehall artists in the Canary Islands, will prepare a session of classic reggae hits and other current songs.

The event is co-financed by the Rural Dynamization Strategy of the Government of the Canary Islands, a sustainable rural development initiative in municipalities with less than 10,000 inhabitants, coordinated by GMR Canarias. The objective: to energize the primary sector and consolidate a model that links local production, gastronomy and culture in territories like Alajeró.

«DE HERE» is not just a commercial showcase: it is a commitment to a development model that respects the territory, celebrates local identity and connects producers, merchants and the public in a meeting space. Playa de Santiago thus becomes, for an evening, the epicenter of authenticity.
