Under the motto “Chipude: Beating roots”, the celebrations incorporate new cultural projects promoted in collaboration between the Festival Commission, the Vallehermoso City Council and the Island Council of La Gomera
The Plaza de Chipude will host tonight, starting at 8:45 p.m., the official presentation of the poster and the programming of the Chipude 2026 Festival, an event that will serve to kick off celebrations that this year aim to reinforce the identity, culture and traditions of the town.
Under the motto "Chipude: Beating Roots", the festivities incorporate a revitalization project that transcends the festive program itself and is born from the joint work between the Festivities Commission, the Vallehermoso City Council and the Island Council of La Gomera, with the aim of consolidating these celebrations as one of the great events on the island calendar.
Among the main novelties, the launch of the official holiday anthem, “Pa’ Chipude”, stands out, accompanied by a video clip that seeks to become a symbol of identity for neighbors. Likewise, a documentary will be presented that will cover the history of the town through the memories, experiences and testimonies of those who have contributed to building the identity of Chipude.
The program also incorporates activities aimed at highlighting the cultural heritage of the municipality, such as traditional Gomeran folklore and rug-making workshops, encouraging the participation of different generations and reinforcing the link with the customs that are part of the town's history.
The mayor of Vallehermoso, Emiliano Coello, highlights that "these festivals represent much more than a program of events. They are an opportunity to value the history, culture and sense of belonging of Chipude, thanks to the joint work carried out between the Festival Commission, the City Council and the Island Council of La Gomera."
The City Council invites residents and visitors to attend the presentation event and discover a program that combines tradition, innovation and participation, with the purpose of continuing to consolidate the Chipude festivities as one of the most relevant celebrations in La Gomera.
