A strategic action that improves the habitability and safety of homes in the urban area

Today the Vallehermoso City Council held an information meeting with the beneficiaries and the project management of the rehabilitation and regeneration works of the town center of the municipality, a strategic action co-financed by the Government of Spain, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Vallehermoso City Council, with the participation of the 22 beneficiary owners and an approximate budget of 2 million euros in this phase.
The project, promoted by the City Council, currently contemplates the execution of three action lots in a group of homes in the urban area, where interventions are being carried out aimed at improving the structural safety of the properties and the conditioning of their habitability conditions. These actions have been proposed by the beneficiary neighbors themselves and subsequently evaluated by the technical team drafting the project.
This is a unique intervention, since it is currently the only action of its kind being carried out in an urban area in the Canary Islands, and constitutes the second phase of a global project that reaches a total investment of 2.6 million euros. The Vallehermoso City Council has highlighted that this action responds to a firm commitment to the rehabilitation of the urban area, the improvement of accessibility to housing and the regeneration of the built environment, favoring the quality of life of residents.
Likewise, the project is complemented by initiatives such as the promotion of rental housing through VISOCAN, which will allow the delivery of seven homes, as well as the upcoming opening of a call for aid for the rehabilitation of rural housing, thus reinforcing the municipal policy to support access to housing and the improvement of the municipality's residential stock.
