San Sebastián de La Gomera presents the 2022 Summer Program
The local Corporation has created a wide and varied calendar of cultural, sports, leisure and nature activities, planned for all audiences, to enjoy a new summer period in the capital of Gomera.
The San Sebastián de La Gomera City Council presents the 2022 Summer Program, 'SAN SEBASTIÁN IS MORE'. It is a wide and varied calendar that includes the celebration of different cultural, sports, leisure, free time, nature, well-being and health activities, for the participation and enjoyment of all citizens, from the youngest to the oldest, generally focused on sharing with the families of the municipality. In this sense, from the Department of Culture and Celebrations, Department of Sports, Department of Leisure and Free Time, everything is ready to start this coming Monday, June 27, with the activities of this new summer period in the capital of Gomera, which will last until the beginning of September.
The mayor of the town, Adasat Reyes Herrera, expressed his enthusiasm for carrying out a new summer program, through which the citizens of the municipality will be able to enjoy and rest during the longest vacation period of the year. In this way, the first local councilor claimed that "one more year this Government Group has created a schedule designed so that the families of the municipality can enjoy and rest on a well-deserved vacation, in the wonderful local environment that we have in San Sebastián de La Gomera."
For this reason, Reyes pointed out that "we organize a wide range of activities that range from the cultural, recreational, leisure, and sports fields, to the field of health and well-being. It is about the implementation of a safe and quality program for citizens, in which both the enjoyment and the promotion of health and prevention of diseases are guaranteed, through motor and cognitive stimulation."
Likewise, the local president highlighted the commitment, willingness and joint work of the local Corporation with local companies from the development of this summer edition. Since this demonstrates once again the firm and secure commitment to the local business fabric, through economic investment in the municipality's companies.
'SAN SEBASTIÁN IS MORE'
It is the name of the program in which the activities and events come together to enjoy a new summer in the capital of La Gomera. This program includes dynamics such as aquagym, dance classes for seniors, dance classes for people with functional diversity, aquatic activities, Zumba, body pum. There will also be concerts, parades, shows, musicals, and open-air cinema. In addition, volleyball tournaments, beach soccer, petanque, beach paddles, badminton, 3×3 basketball, duni, ultimate frissbee, orienteering races, gymkhana, chess, table tennis, table football, board games, Campus Javi Beirsen and Campus UD Las Palmas.
Finally, it should be noted that with the execution of this program, the II Festival of Magic and Humor, called 'La Villa Mágica', will be held again. This being the second consecutive edition of this festival that had great participation last summer. As well as, the second edition of the family program Cuentos Bajo Las Estrellas will continue; the second edition of the Alternative Leisure project, and the first edition of MAPAS Fest, an international festival of different performing arts, created in the Canary Islands, and which brings together 37 companies from 15 different countries.
