It will have a budget of 1.3 million euros and participatory processes will play a fundamental role
The Governing Council of the Urban Planning Management of the La Laguna City Council, chaired by the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, and with representation of all municipal political groups, has today approved the specifications of technical prescriptions and particular administrative clauses to put out to tender the drafting of the General Planning Plan (PGO) of the town. This call, which will soon be published in the Official Journal of the European Union, will have a tender budget of just over €1.3 million and will be based on the sustainable development model of the Local Urban Agenda.
The mayor declared that "we began a fundamental process for the future of La Laguna, which takes its first step with the cooperation of representatives of all political parties. The current PGO, more than 20 years old, is insufficient to face current and future challenges, and we need an updated planning that allows us to advance in the sustainable development model, which we have jointly agreed upon and which was ratified, last December, with the approval of the Local Urban Agenda."
Gutiérrez recalled that "we are still in a very initial phase of this long procedure, but we believe that it is important to report each step, within the legal margins, because La Laguna faces an agreement with its future that requires breadth of vision, a commitment that requires dialogue and the search for consensus."
The Councilor for Territorial Planning, Adolfo Cordobés, highlighted “the enormous work carried out by the Urban Planning Management team, both in the preparation of these specifications and in the different phases developed to reach this moment with all the possible guarantees: from the Urban Agenda to the consensual creation of an Advisory Council on planning, in which all political groups, collectives, entities related to this area and municipal councils will be represented.”
In this sense, Cordobés announced that "all phases will have extensive participation from residents and all sectors of the town, both individually and through a newly created neighborhood organization and the Urban Planning Advisory Council. In addition, we will have important technological support, both through Geographic Information Systems and in the participatory processes themselves, to facilitate each citizen who can contribute their assessments or allegations in the different phases of the process."
To guarantee the fairness and security of this tender, the autonomous body will publish the specifications in their entirety in the call, both in the OJEU and in the State Contracting Platform, since these specify the criteria that the bidders must meet.
