La Gomera promotes ornithological tourism at the Falsterbo Bird Show in Sweden

The island participates with an exhibition area in these birdwatching days, which take place from September 2 to 4 and welcomes a large number of birdwatching enthusiasts.

La Gomera participates in the Falsterbo Bird Show, a conference dedicated to ornithology that takes place annually in the Swedish city of Falsterbo. The event, which opened its doors this Friday, September 2, and continues until Sunday the 4th, hopes to bring together thousands of visitors interested in tourist destinations of this type.

Turismo de La Gomera has an exhibition area in which, in addition to showing specific content related to bird watching or avitourism tourism, it is promoted as a tourist destination where you can enjoy a holiday surrounded by nature, since the profile of the visitor is that of an audience interested in natural heritage.

The event has a varied program of activities and presentations that guarantee the presence and participation among attendees. Likewise, La Gomera has a large number of tourist resources that can be attractive to this type of tourists, such as the presence of the woodcock (Scolopax rusticola), a species of endemic wading bird.

María Isabel Méndez, insular Tourism Minister, highlights the presence of La Gomera in these days to “establish contact not only with the attending public, but also with tour operators and specialized press that can lead to promotional actions on the island.”

Likewise, it highlights the fact that Falsterbo, in the extreme south of Sweden, is located less than an hour by train from Copenhagen international airport, which has a regular connection with Tenerife South.
