Initiative for La Gomera (IxLG) asks the Cabildo when the new health and extraordinary aid for La Gomera will be called

The Gomera training demands agility so that the families and beneficiaries know as soon as possible the deadlines and conditions of the new call for aid, after the public information period of the new ordinance has already ended.

The spokesperson for the Initiative for La Gomera (IxLG), Aarón Rodríguez Ramos, points out that his political party asked during the ordinary plenary session of the Island Council of La Gomera held on June 5, 2026 about the forecast managed by the government group for the publication of the new call for health and extraordinary aid from the island institution.

Rodríguez Ramos recalled that on April 27, 2026, the new Ordinance regulating this aid was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, after its initial approval by the Plenary of the Cabildo, thus beginning the corresponding public information period for thirty days.

“Considering that this period has already ended, we understand that it is necessary to know when the Cabildo plans to launch the new call so that potential beneficiaries can access this aid as quickly as possible,” said the spokesperson for the Initiative for La Gomera (IxLG).

From the Gomera training they highlight the importance of these benefits for numerous citizens of La Gomera and that they remain in expectation today, especially for those people and families who need financial support to face uncovered health expenses or extraordinary situations that affect their well-being and quality of life.

"When we talk about health and extraordinary aid, we are talking about resources that can be essential for many people. That is why we believe that it is important to offer certainty and avoid unnecessary delays in the processing of the new call," said the spokesperson for the Gomera formation.

The spokesperson for the Initiative for La Gomera (IxLG) also stressed that, once the public exhibition period of the ordinance has passed, it is up to the Cabildo to complete the necessary procedures so that the new regulation comes into full force and can materialize in an effective call.

"Administrations must act with the utmost diligence when it comes to programs that have a direct impact on the quality of life of citizens. Our objective is to make public a planned schedule and guarantee that this aid reaches those who need it as soon as possible," said Rodríguez Ramos.

From the Initiative for La Gomera (IxLG) they reiterate their commitment to monitoring and improving social policies promoted by the different public administrations, insisting on the need for procedures to be developed with transparency, foresight and effectiveness to adequately respond to the needs of the Gomera population.
