Hermigua expands the capacity of the cemetery

The City Council builds a new row of niches and carries out maintenance work

The Hermigua City Council has carried out an intervention in the municipal cemetery to expand the capacity of niches, since the current site was running out of free units. In this way, with the new row created, twenty-four new spaces have been obtained that remain, in this way, inside the cemetery.

“The interior capacity of the facility was practically non-existent and that is why we decided to carry out these expansion works within the current space, because we understand that they are more sheltered and do not show the loneliness and helplessness that they would have in the exterior expansion that has not yet been fully completed,” explains the mayor of Hermigua, Yordán Piñero.

Likewise, the municipal head of works, Pedro Morales, explains that in addition to these works, the City Council is proceeding to fix the cornice of the premises that was deteriorated and will also proceed to paint the façade of the same.

“They are maintenance works in an area that is very important for the residents and that we are preparing for when it can be fully reopened, without the current limitations, it is in the conditions of decency that this place requires,” says the councilor.
