This season, a dozen modalities are offered in order to promote healthy lifestyle habits and values through sports practice among the island's youth.
People and teams interested in participating can now register through the island Institution's website, until October 30 for most sports modalities.
The Cabildo of La Gomera activates the 2025-2026 School Games and Sports Promotion Campaign, with the aim of continuing to promote and facilitate access to sports among the island's youth. In this edition, interested people and teams will be able to choose from a dozen sports modalities, whose registration period closes on October 30 for most of them.
The island president, Casimiro Curbelo, insisted on the Cabildo's commitment "to continue promoting sports practice and healthy living habits among the youngest, offering different sports modalities that also include native games and sports, in order to preserve our traditions and satisfy the demand of the athletes of our island," he added. In this way, he recalled that, in 2026, the Cabildo has allocated more than 580 thousand euros to sports projects and cooperation with clubs on the island.
For his part, the insular Minister of Sports and Youth, Guillermo Medina, explained that, among the modalities offered, there is chess, badminton, cross country, indoor soccer, judo, Canary ball, table tennis, triathlon/duathlon, athletics and beach volleyball.
Registration for School Games 2026-2027
People and teams interested in participating in this new edition have all the information in the sports section of the Cabildo de La Gomera website, through this link, where you can consult the calendar and ages, as well as the registration deadlines and procedures. Registration for these activities will be channeled through the email Juegoesescolares@lagomera.es.
The application submission period ends on October 30 for the modalities of chess, badminton, cross country, indoor soccer, judo, Canary ball, table tennis and triathlon/duathlon. In the case of athletics, the registration period will open in the month of March 2027, while for beach volleyball the months between April and May 2027 will be enabled.
