The island Institution activates, as of this Monday, these incentives to which it allocates a global investment of 100 thousand euros to cooperate with projects developed in the island territory
Interested entities have until July 3 to submit applications for this call
The Cabildo of La Gomera opens the deadline for submitting applications to participate in the call for subsidies for non-profit entities in the social field. Thus, the island Institution allocates 100 thousand euros to this line of aid, intended for those associations and foundations that develop social projects in the island territory.
The president of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, highlighted the importance of this call “which allows supporting projects and initiatives promoted by non-profit entities, thus strengthening collaboration between public administrations and the island's associative fabric, and recognizing their fundamental role in moving towards a more just and inclusive society.”
Along these lines, Curbelo stressed that the activity carried out by these groups is key to addressing realities that, sometimes, the administration does not reach directly. “They offer support and resources to people who are in situations of greater vulnerability, while promoting social inclusion, equal opportunities and strengthening community cohesion,” he highlighted.
For her part, the insular Minister of Social Policy, Rosa Elena García, explained that this aid is intended to support actions aimed at especially sensitive groups, including older people, people with disabilities, people at risk or in a situation of social exclusion, as well as those who have specific support needs.
The projects contemplated in the applications must be framed in one of the established lines of action and directed at the population groups residing in La Gomera. The amounts obtained may not exceed 50% of the cost of the project presented, with a maximum amount to subsidize each entity of 30 thousand euros.
The application submission period is open from this Monday until Friday, July 3, both inclusive. The presentation of the documentation, as well as the completion of the forms, can be done through the Electronic Headquarters of the Cabildo.
