The City Council grants 60,000 euros in aid to the pensioners of San Sebastián de La Gomera Received

Increases the individual amount by 11%, compared to 2019, to support those neighbors with non-contributory or welfare pensions from the municipality

The City Council has resolved and paid the granting of financial aid to one hundred and twenty-one pensioners from San Sebastián de La Gomera, who will receive an amount of 495.86 euros each. The global amount allocated to this chapter amounts to a total of 60,000 euros, distributed equally among applicants with non-contributory or welfare pensions.

In this sense, the mayor of San Sebastián de La Gomera, Adasat Reyes, recalled that this aid is intended for those neighbors with a smaller pension than usual, which does not reach the Minimum Interprofessional Wage, and who usually face greater needs, often supporting a large family nucleus, especially in a situation of economic crisis like the usual one.

Along with this, he stressed that this group will continue to have a broad package of bonuses, exemptions and initiatives that benefit both holders of non-contributory pensions, as well as large families, people with disabilities or non-profit entities.
