The City Council reports on the status of processing the proposal to name a street in Alojera

EL AYUNTAMIENTO INFORMA SOBRE EL ESTADO DE TRAMITACIÓN DE LA PROPUESTA DE DENOMINACIÓN DE UNA CALLE EN ALOJERA

The file requires the necessary documentation to assess the merits of the proposed person and continue with the established procedure

Vallehermoso, November 4, 2026. The Vallehermoso City Council conveys its condolences to the family of the recently deceased resident of Alojera and expresses its respect for the personal circumstances that accompany this moment of mourning.

In relation to the statements recently made by an opposition councilor regarding the death of a resident of Alojera and the proposal to name a public road in recognition of José "Joseito", the City Council considers it appropriate to contextualize the current status of the file and the background of its processing. The proposal was presented after the death of José "Joseito", starting from that moment on the corresponding administrative procedure to evaluate the possible name of a street in the Alojera neighborhood.

After receiving the proposal, the City Council began the corresponding processing and established a commission in charge of analyzing and evaluating the file in accordance with current regulations. The councilor who presented the request is part of this commission. In order to evaluate a proposal of these characteristics, the regulations require having a report justifying the merits of the proposed person, as well as the necessary documentation to prove said merits. This documentation allows the commission to have objective elements to determine whether the circumstances exist that would justify the naming of a public road.

As of today, the file does not have the evaluation report or the sufficient and necessary documentation to carry out this evaluation. According to what was transferred during the processing, the councilor who presented the proposal had stated that he would be in charge of preparing said documentation.

Pending documentation to continue the file

Consequently, the proposal remains pending completion of this documentation in order to continue with the following phases of the administrative procedure.

The mayor of Vallehermoso, Emiliano Coello, said that "first of all we want to convey our condolences to the family for the death of Joseito's mother and express our respect at this moment." Coello explained that "the proposal to evaluate the name of a street in Alojera was presented after the death of Joseito and the City Council proceeded to initiate the file and establish the corresponding commission."

Likewise, he indicated that "in order to carry out the assessment, it is necessary to have a report and documentation that allows proving the merits of the proposed person, as established by the procedure." The mayor added that "the councilor who presented the request is part of the commission and had undertaken the preparation of the necessary documentation, which to date has not been incorporated into the file in a sufficient manner to complete the assessment."

The City Council considers it necessary to separate the personal circumstances derived from the recent death from the administrative processing of a proposal that was previously presented. In this sense, the Corporation indicates that the file must continue through the established channels and that any assessment of the merits of the proposed person must be supported by the corresponding documentation. The proposal will continue its processing once the necessary report and documentation is incorporated, at which time the commission will be able to carry out the planned assessment and continue with the administrative procedure.
