ASG reminds the Government that the second phase of the El Revolcadero environmental complex is still pending
The deputy spokesperson for the Gomera Socialist Group, Jesús Ramos, points out that it is an action that cannot be delayed and requests the Ecological Transition and Energy to include a budget allocation for the next year.
He considers it a priority to continue betting on the insertion of renewables to reduce carbonization and gives as an example the wind farms that La Gomera wants to install to power two treatment plants.
Sunday, November 10. The deputy spokesperson for the Gomera Socialist Group Parliamentary Group (ASG), Jesús Ramos, has reminded the Minister of Ecological Transition and Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands, Mariano Hernández Zapata, that the second phase of the El Revolcadero environmental complex is still pending and is an action that cannot be delayed.
Jesús Ramos asked the head of this department to include an allocation in the budgets for the next year, within the items allocated to waste management. He highlighted the interest shown by the Government in this matter, by including, in the 2025 public accounts, important items for the classification plants, and stated that, in this area, coordination with councils and city councils is essential.
He valued the effort made by the Canary Islands Executive to streamline the files related to the European recovery and resilience funds, which, in his opinion, reflects that, "in the Canary Islands, we are changing our conception of the economy towards a much more sustainable one, in which waste management is essential, especially in what has to do with its reuse, and for which there are several items in the budget prepared for 2025."
He also alluded to “the progress recorded throughout the current legislature in regards to the transformation of our energy model, with the insertion of renewables, the regeneration of supply equipment, providing the system with greater security, and reducing the electricity bill of public administrations, which are the ones that have to start setting an example.”
In this context, he considered it a priority to continue betting on the insertion of renewables to reduce carbonization and gave as an example the wind farms that La Gomera wants to install to power two treatment plants.
He was also interested in the conservation of national parks, given the reduction in the allocation allocated to the Garajonay National Park, a reduction that, as he announced, his party will try to correct in the process of amendments to the budget bill for 2025.
