Removal of plant matter or pruning of palm trees, among the works to be carried out
The Vallehermoso City Council has entrusted Gesplan with the environmental improvement works that will be carried out on the margins of municipally owned public roads. Among the jobs to be carried out is the removal of plant material or the pruning of palm trees.
To carry out this action, the City Council will allocate nearly 75,000 euros corresponding to FDCAN funds. This assignment will hire five workers to carry out these tasks and has an expected duration of two months.
Emiliano Coello, mayor of Vallehermoso, explains that the proximity of summer and by extension the risk of fire “requires deep and thorough cleaning of the roadsides and also of nearby homes and eliminating excess vegetable fuel as an effective method of prevention.”
In this sense, he points out that palm trees also need pruning and care "to continue maintaining a palm grove with the maximum health guarantees and that the specimens in the municipality are in the best possible condition and also minimize any type of risk with branches that may break off from specimens in poor condition."
The purpose of the assignment consists, among other aspects, of carrying out the forestry work necessary for the management of plant fuel, cleaning, pruning, brush cutting and removal of remains.
