Emiliano Coello highlights that the priority in his management right now is to alleviate the serious economic and social situation that is looming
The Vallehermoso City Council will allocate a total of 1,102,534.99 euros to employment this year, an amount that includes the items allocated to Gesplan for works and services (350,000 euros), FDCAN 2019 projects co-financed with the Government (198,346.78 euros) and where the City Council contributes more than 189,000 euros, the entrustment of pruning services for an amount of 80,000 euros plus reinforcement in social services, which amounts to 285,000 euros.
“These items – points out the mayor, Emiliano Coello – largely seek to alleviate the serious economic and social situation that is looming as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and that allow the hiring of a significant number of neighbors directly in the parcels, but also from other awards that we have been closing in recent times,” he recalls.
In this sense, Coello explains that with the conclusion of the hiring of support personnel for the services linked to the Extraordinary Social Employment Plan and the reinforcement of care services for risk profiles due to COVD-19 "a total of 41 workers have been incorporated into the workforce, in addition to those hired through the assignment to Gesplan, which are 8 works and services employees and 6 palm tree pruning operators."
The mayor points out that the municipal staff consists of 52 workers "to which 55 are added either directly or indirectly, so we are doubling staff to improve as much as possible not only the services provided by the City Council, but also focusing on serving those who most need help in these difficult times, and that is why we pay special attention to Social Services," he points out.
Emiliano Coello reports that this is the most important employment program carried out to date by the City Council "and we will continue to support active employment policies also from the awarding of works, as they also serve to reactivate the local business fabric and in addition, actions such as the ARRU, the paving of Pavón, the future ZCA or the wastewater treatment plants, will also generate employment through the successful bidders, which implies an important economic injection for the families of the municipality," he concludes.
