Vallehermoso celebrates the completion of the Variante tunnel street

The work will allow traffic congestion in the urban area and improve road safety.

The Vallehermoso City Council values the completion of the municipality's Bypass tunnel lane, a long-demanded infrastructure that will mean a before and after for local and regional mobility. With this action, congestion in the urban area will be alleviated, the safety of pedestrians and drivers will be reinforced and the connection to Valle Gran Rey and the northern island will be facilitated.

Along with this, this action will also mean creating new parking spaces and roads for the proper management of traffic and pedestrians.

The mayor of Vallehermoso, Emiliano Coello, highlighted that the completion of the tunnel "marks a milestone in the recent history of the municipality, responding to a neighborhood demand that goes back decades." He also stressed that this new infrastructure “will favor the economic and social revitalization of the town, while guaranteeing greater territorial cohesion for the entire island.”

Likewise, the councilor valued the institutional cooperation that has made this work possible. “This project demonstrates that when administrations work hand in hand, real progress is achieved that improves the quality of life of our neighbors,” he stated.

The Vallehermoso City Council expressly appreciates the commitment of the Cabildo of La Gomera and the Government of the Canary Islands, whose support has been decisive for this strategic project for the municipality to become a reality.
