The LXV edition of the Columbian Days continues its programming with new cultural proposals that will take place in the municipalities of Agulo, San Sebastián de La Gomera and Valle Gran Rey, with activities linked to gastronomy, humor and music.
He Thursday September 10, the program will reach Agulo, where the Plaza de Leoncio Bento will host, starting at 6:00 p.m., the gastronomic tasting exhibition 'Gomera-América', a proposal that highlights the links between the culinary tradition of La Gomera and America.
Next, at 8:00 p.m., this same space will be the scene of 'Cuéntame milongas', a show created, directed and performed by David Muñoz, which proposes a journey through Argentine music through, mainly, tango and milonga.
The proposal seeks to go beyond a conventional concert to immerse the public in a journey through different emotions and feelings, from innocence and longing to love, laughter, sorrow or spite. The music is intertwined during the show with monologues, anecdotes and experiences, creating a close and intimate staging in which lighting also plays a prominent role.
With an approximate duration of 80 minutes, 'Cuéntame milongas' features, along with David Muñoz, Pablo Díaz, on flute and in musical direction; Fernando García, on percussion; and Diego Expósito, on piano.
Programming will continue Friday September 11 in San Sebastián de La Gomera, where the Insular Auditorium of La Gomera will receive, starting at 8:00 p.m., the comedian Kike Pérez, within the Reílas Festival programming.
Tickets for this show will be free and will be distributed at the Auditorio Insular box office one hour before it starts, with a maximum of two tickets per person.
The show proposes, through humor, a journey through some of the contradictions of today's society, addressing issues such as the weight of social networks, immediacy or the growing presence of the unreal in everyday life. To do this, Kike Pérez uses anecdotes, experiences and reflections with which he invites the public to observe reality from a critical perspective, but always from a comedy perspective.
That same day, the activity of the Columbian Days will also move to Valle Gran Rey, where the House of Culture will host, at 8:00 p.m., the musical show 'The Dream of a New World'.
The proposal will feature the participation of José Manuel Ramos, Paula Gómez, David Muñoz and Eduardo Duque, in a performance that once again highlights, through music, the historical and cultural links between the Canary Islands and America.
These activities are part of the programming of the LXV edition of the Columbian Days, which is celebrated under the motto 'In the footsteps of History' and which continues to display cultural proposals throughout the six municipalities of La Gomera.
