The proposal focuses its gaze on the Silbo Gomero and the Salto del Pastor, two of the most representative cultural manifestations of the island's identity and heritage.
The Exhibition Hall of the Cabildo de La Gomera hosts, this Saturday, September 5, the inauguration of the exhibition 'yo, Guirre', by the artist Yapci Ramos,
The exhibition will open its doors at 6:30 p.m., within the programming of the Columbian Days which, under the motto 'In the footsteps of History', delve into memory, culture and the elements that make up the island's identity.
'Yo, Guirre' presents a symbolic and cultural approach to two practices closely linked to the Gomero territory and transmitted from generation to generation. Through the artistic proposal of Yapci Ramos, the exhibition invites us to reflect on their value as living expressions of the island's heritage.
The Silbo Gomero, which has become one of the great cultural symbols of La Gomera, and the Salto del Pastor, historically linked to the adaptation of the population to the territory and the particular orography of the islands, thus star in an exhibition that connects tradition, identity and contemporary creation.
The inauguration of 'yo, Guirre' reinforces the presence of the Gomero heritage within the Columbus Days and offers a space to recognize, preserve and disseminate cultural manifestations that are part of the collective memory of La Gomera.
