The Institution publishes the list of beneficiary students who take advantage of this line
aid, launched for the first time
Curbelo remembers that the amounts assigned are complementary to other aid
intended for the same purpose and that are implemented by the rest of the administrations
The Cabildo of La Gomera publishes the list of beneficiaries of the Erasmus scholarships that
awarded, for the first time, to 17 students from the island who have met the requirements
established in the call. This support tool has character
complementary to the rest of the aid that other public administrations also
called in the current school year.
The island president, Casimiro Curbelo, explained that these measures “minimize expenses
of students and their families during the months of their stay in the cities
European institutions in which they are trained, receiving amounts ranging between 600 and 1,800
euros." In this sense, he pointed out that the payment of the amount determined for each
applicant will be held in the coming weeks.
Rest of study scholarships
In addition to the Erasmus scholarships, there are those dedicated to students who train within
Spain with a budget of 800,000 euros to serve about 800 students. “This is
the modality that registers the most demand and that is currently in the process of
review of each of the applications submitted,” he explained.
Regarding these scholarships, he recalled that students who train outside the Canary Islands,
They will receive a maximum amount of 1,300 euros for undergraduate university education,
Master's, Doctorate or Double Degrees. In the event that they do so in any of the
universities of the Islands, the amount is established at 1,100 euros. Meanwhile, if they attend
Training Cycles, Baccalaureate or similar that are not taught in La Gomera, will receive
a maximum amount of 600 euros.
Those who do it in La Gomera, through the UNED, will have a batch of 600
euros. However, they will also be able to access an amount of up to 400 euros, those
who are studying their Baccalaureate and Vocational Training studies in La Gomera, whose
applicant has his address more than 15 kilometers from the study center and is not
receiving school transportation subsidized by the insular Institution.
