The Plenary Hall of the Cabildo of La Gomera hosts this Friday, September 4, at 8:00 p.m., the presentation of the book 'Protected Canary Islands Fauna', the work of Luis Herrera Mesa, professor of Biology, Favorite Son of La Gomera and Gold Medal of the Canary Islands.
The event is part of the programming of the LXV edition of the Columbian Days and proposes an approach to the natural heritage of the Archipelago through a publication dedicated to the knowledge and dissemination of the protected fauna of the Canary Islands.
Herrera Mesa's work focuses on the richness of the islands' biodiversity and the importance of its conservation, helping to bring citizens closer to the value of the species that are part of the Canarian natural heritage and the need to guarantee their protection.
The presentation is also an opportunity to deepen our knowledge of the nature of the Archipelago from the hand of an author with extensive academic and informative experience, closely linked to La Gomera.
The event will also feature a performance by the Arena y Jable Musical Teaching Center, incorporating a musical aspect to a day dedicated to the dissemination and enhancement of the natural heritage of the Canary Islands.
