Students may receive a maximum of 2,700 euros depending on the months of training outside the Canary Islands.
Applications will be processed electronically through the Cabildo's Electronic Headquarters until next November 3
Starting this Tuesday, October 13, the Cabildo of La Gomera opens the application period for the Erasmus and Sicue scholarships, aimed at students pursuing higher education studies at universities in Europe and participating in these mobility programs. With this aid, the insular Institution reinforces its commitment to access to training under equal conditions for young people from La Gomera.
This initiative, aimed specifically at the students of these programs, allows for complementary coverage to Gomero students who are trained in higher education centers covered by these mobility systems, as explained by the president of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo.
In this sense, Curbelo explained that "the student will receive 300 euros per month of study up to a maximum of nine months, which is the duration of the school year, so the total amount may reach 2,700 euros", before remembering that they are already working on the new call for scholarships for study and rental that will be activated before the end of the year, as is usual.
For her part, the Minister of Education, Rosa Elena García, highlighted that the processing of applications will be carried out exclusively electronically, with a deadline until November 3, through the Cabildo's Electronic Headquarters, which will speed up deadlines and facilitate procedures, since the students are already at their training location.
The Cabildo of La Gomera has set a total investment of more than 2 million euros for Education. In this case, 1.2 million euros for general scholarships; 80,000 euros for Erasmus, 400,000 euros for transport aid, 200,000 euros for the acquisition of textbooks in compulsory education, and 126 thousand euros for agreements with public universities in the Canary Islands.
