The Consistory has public land on Avenida José Aguiar and in Tecina, so it will demand funds from the Government of the Canary Islands to allow its execution in the shortest possible time.
The City Council of San Sebastián de La Gomera will demand from the Government of the Canary Islands the financing of the three public housing projects that the Consistory has planned and which total, in total, sixty-two units.
Some projects that, as reported by the mayor of San Sebastián de La Gomera, Adasat Reyes, have already been transferred to the Government of the Canary Islands last January, via the FECAM, the public lands available to be incorporated into the future public housing stock proposed by the Autonomous Government, which would facilitate the construction of twenty-eight units on Avenida José Aguiar, as well as thirty-four in Tecina.
"Right now we are in a very advanced phase, since we would only need to financially fund these proposals and begin their execution," said the mayor, who stated that "we are in an advantageous position, waiting to know how much and when."
For this reason, I emphasize the importance of this institutional agreement, between all the parties that are part of the Plenary of the City Council, "since we are all aware of the serious problem that lack of housing represents in the municipality, although fortunately we have the land, the projects and the will of all the parties that make up the Government of the Canary Islands to achieve the necessary economic boost that allows us to make one of the aspects that our neighbors most demand of us, decent housing, a reality."
La Lomada Office
Another of the topics addressed was the future construction of a medical office in the La Lomada area. An initiative for which the City Council has already stressed to the Government of the Canary Islands the availability of the necessary land in the absence of the technical specifications that must be sent to the Consistory. All of this, with the aim of advancing in the implementation of this service in the shortest period of time possible.
Local Festivals Calendar for 2021
Likewise, the Plenary approved the Government Group's proposal for the calendar of local festivals for 2021. Specifically, they will be on January 20, the San Sebastian festival, and February 16, Carnival Tuesday.
