The Cabildo of La Gomera and the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through its Delegation in La Gomera, are launching a new training action aimed at self-employed workers and small businesses on the island, focused on tax obligations and developments related to electronic invoicing and computerized billing systems.

The island president, Casimiro Curbelo, pointed out that with this action, “both entities reinforce their commitment to the business fabric of the island, providing training and practical tools adapted to the real needs of self-employed businesses and small and medium-sized companies.”

For her part, the insular Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, María Isabel Méndez, reported that the training will have a markedly practical nature and will include a specific space for resolving doubts and analyzing specific situations that may arise in the daily activity of self-employed workers and small businesses.

The training will begin with two live online sessions on October 19 and 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During these sessions, content related to the taxation of self-employed workers and companies will be addressed, including personal income tax, IGIC, withholdings, deductible expenses and accounting and tax obligations.

The program will also incorporate practical cases and real situations, as well as an analysis of the most frequent tax and billing errors, with the aim of facilitating the application of the knowledge acquired to the daily management of businesses.

Subsequently, on October 22 and 23, in-person sessions will be held, also from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Participants will be able to choose between two locations: on October 22, at the Youth House of San Sebastián de La Gomera, and on October 23, at the Valle Gran Rey Tourist Office.

These sessions will be especially focused on new obligations and tools related to billing. Among the planned contents are the billing requirements and obligations, the electronic invoice, the computerized billing systems and VERI*FACTU, as well as the conditions that the billing programs must meet and the process of adapting businesses to this new reality.

Likewise, participants will have two hours of personalized online tutoring, aimed at resolving specific doubts and facilitating the application of the content to the characteristics and needs of each business.
