The initiative combines training with paid employment and has a subsidy from the Canarian Employment Service worth 302,805 euros
The mayor of San Sebastián de La Gomera, Adasat Reyes, accompanied by the Councilor for Human Resources, Eleazar Borrego, and the teaching team, were in charge of welcoming this Thursday, March 5, the students who will be part of the fourth edition of the Alternation Training Program (PFAE).
A program that has an aid of 302,825 euros from the Canarian Employment Service and that will allow its members, unemployed over 30 years of age, to be trained as tourist informants, combining training with financially paid internships.
In this regard, Reyes pointed out that the delivery of the professionalism certificates to the students "is, without a doubt, one of the most special moments that I remember each year, since with this program we go beyond offering a job, helping to offer new real possibilities to enter the current competitive labor market."
For this reason, "I invite you to take it as a challenge, since combining employment and training is the best investment for the future." Likewise, he stated that "we are very happy with the teaching team with whom they are going to begin preparing, young people prepared and eager to work and collaborate who will surely achieve the objectives set for this project."
He recalled that this training coincides in time with the expectations of growth of accommodation places in San Sebastián de La Gomera, both in the short and medium term, "so we are convinced that a stable demand for employment will be generated that they will be able to take advantage of."
Regarding the objectives that the training will pursue, they include participation in the creation and management of tourist products and services, as well as the promotion of heritage or local products.
